pleasure as Praxis Founder +

Mentor + Somatic Practitioner for the female nervous system

+ Doctoral Candidate + Educator + Body Worker

Like many others, my path began with crippling chronic illness.

Along my journey, I have healed from several nervous system and auto-immune related conditions beginning with a rare muscular dystrophy known as dermatomyositis and later, postural orthostatic tachycardia (POTS), childhood post traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

If I had tried to heal each one as a separate condition, I would still have them!

Instead, I worked from my nervous system center: my matríz (womb)-and my health and life transformed.

The power of the matríz and the female nervous system are now what I teach to my clients who yearn for more from life and are done trying to force an outcome.

Along the way, I have continued on to pursue my doctorate where I integrate my embodied experiences into my research on the history and philosophy of science of the female nervous system, the female orgasm, our innate relationship to pleasure and the sexual nature of child birth.

Hey love, I'm Verónica

I created Pleasure as Praxis because I saw a gap in how women are taught to understand their relationship to pleasure—and to their own nervous system.

I’m a doctoral candidate specializing in the history and philosophy of science of the female nervous system and the female orgasm, and my work is informed by both research and lived experience.

I draw from the growing body of female-led science—researchers who are also midwives, doulas, birth workers, and somatic practitioners—who understand the female pelvis as central to nervous system regulation and healing.

This work is also deeply personal. I have healed my own chronic illness, including muscular dystrophy, POTS, PCOS, and CPTSD. I understand the fear of being told your body is in an “incurable,” state and the overwhelm that can make change feel impossible.

That’s why I believe in soft work, intentional integration and the power of pleasure, oxytocin, the female nervous system's primary regulator.

Everything I offer is rooted in the kind of support I once needed in my darkest times, and it is my great pleasure to now offer it to you.
